What is CONFIDENCE?
Is it a feeling or a personality type?
Is it hereditary or can you develop it?
Do you need confidence?
The C word has always been a controversial one. Some people use a lack of confidence as an excuse. It's their reason to sit out challenges, their reason to cheer others on from the sidelines instead of participating in the game.
Do you want to be confident? Do you want to be the one taking up the challenges and succeeding?
If so, perhaps you need to view confidence differently.
Its a very romantic idea to think you'll hear strings and see fireworks when you first lay eyes on the one you'll love. It's also a very romantic idea to think you'll feel confident before you take up the challenge. I'm not saying it can't happen, I'm just saying it's not likely... or perhaps necessary.
Rather than putting all of your energy into confidence... maybe you need to shift your focus to another C word.... COURAGE.
Do you ever feel consumed by self-doubt and disabled by insecurity? The Performer's Mind is based on things that have helped me through my own battles and those of my singing students. It is here to help performers but is relevant for anyone who needs to perform in any capacity of life; parents, teachers, managers, students…. humans. The Performer's Mind is especially for those who feel the desire, the push or pull of needing more from life. It’s for those people who know they could do more than they currently are, if only they could get past that thing that is holding them back.
Have you asked for help only to be greeted with gentle encouragement and a sweet voice of a loved one, telling you, “You’ll be fine”? Do you recognise you need a kick up the butt, you need to face the reality of the issues that are holding you back so you can move past this awkward stage? The Performer's Mind details some fairly obvious truths, but also some different thoughts for you to consider in the most direct fashion possible. The aim of this book and podcast is to get to the point quickly, give you some alternative ways to view your situation and encourage you to get on with it so you don’t waste any more of your precious and limited time on this earth.
By facing your fears and anxieties, I believe your life will develop, your performances will flourish and you will achieve what you are meant to achieve in your life. You’ll become a person of influence and an inspiration for those in your world as you step into your full potential.
