Frequently Asked Questions
Why is creativity important for kids?
Creativity is important for kids (and adults) for so many reasons. It:
- Encourages open mindedness
- Improves problem-solving abilities
- Provides an easy-going social experience (bonding over an activity)
- Builds and improves fine motor skills
- Satisfies the human urge to “create” and provides a sense of satisfaction when you see what you have created
- Reduces stress and encourages relaxation
- Is linked to purpose and fulfillment
- Is so so much fun!!
Is parent involvement required?
It depends on the ability of your child. If you know they will need help - I will be able to provide some assistance, but I can’t be everywhere at once so you will be required. If they are quite independent, you’ll probably be able to sit back and relax. HOWEVER you and your child will get more out of the experience if you have more active involvement - it’s a great time to bond with your child over a project and you’ll be able to experience the benefits of crafting too! And please note, your child will need to be under your supervision at all times.
What skills will my child use/build?
The activities will cover a variety of skills such as: cutting (using kids scissors), pasting, painting, drawing, stapling, mixing, measuring, taping, collage and more! The term program is set up in a way that we will work on all the different skills involved in crafting and we will start with easier things and build to the more advanced things so your child can build on their skills.
What sorts of activities will we do?
Some examples of activities are: making paper bag kites, mixing slime, making suncatchers, paintings, and binoculars. I have designed the program so that you will be able to take home things that your child will (hopefully) keep getting enjoyment out of once they take it home, not necessarily just (another) painting or a craft project that sits on the shelf before it makes its way to the bin the next month.
What age does this suit best?
Ages 2-5 - Thursdays 10am
Ages 5-9 - Mondays 4pm
Ages 5-9 - Mondays 4pm
Where is the class located?
The class will be held at the Bianca Fenn School of Music 1/27 Simms Road, Greensborough. We will be located in the warehouse at the rear of the school but please enter through the office and you will be directed to the right location.
What should I wear?
Art smocks will be provided however they can only provide so much protection so please wear clothes that you don’t mind getting a little painty!
Do I need to bring anything?
Nope! I provide all the materials and equipment for you. I will wash all the brushes and pick up all the tiny pieces of paper ;)
Are bookings required?
Yes. You will need to book in advance so that I can ensure that I purchase the correct amount of materials for the craft activity of the week. Ideally you will book a week in advance but please contact me any time prior to the day and I’ll see if I can fit you in.
Who is the teacher?
Check out the “Meet the Facilitator” section below. Yes, I do have a working with children’s check.
How much is the class? Can I sign up for the whole term and will I get a discount?
The class is $25 per session and this includes all materials and equipment. You can pay as you go but payment is required 7 days in advance in order for me to purchase the materials required.
You can sign up for the whole term and I do encourage this as it allows your child to build on their skills gradually and get the most out of the program as a whole. If you sign up for the whole term, the class will be discounted to $22 per session. If you have multiple children who are at a crafting age, then please contact me for a price as I will be able to offer a discount.

Are younger siblings allowed?
Yes, definitely bring them along! You will only be required to pay for the child who is crafting. If the sibling does want to get involved in some way, shape or form then they will need to share the materials allotted to the child you have paid for. There will be toys for younger kiddies to play with but please know they may be able to reach the table and get involved (even if you don’t want them to).
When do you require payment and what happens if I can no longer make the class?
I require payment for the class 7 days in advance so that I can purchase the correct amount of materials.
If you cancel within 7 days of the class then I will not be able to provide a refund but I can offer a credit to be used for your next class as long as you are more than 24 hours out. This includes holidays - please just let me know more than 7 days in advance.
If you cancel within 24 hours, then I cannot provide a refund or credit. If you are paying as you go, then you will need to pay for the missed class. This includes no shows and cancellation due to sickness.
I cannot provide refunds if you have paid for a term but decide to cancel mid-term. Pay as you go is an option, so please opt for this if you are unsure of your attendance.

Please understand that I am trying to be as fair as possible - I know stuff happens! - but I also need to provide policies so that I can keep my business running.
