What makes BFSM different?
BFSM is owned by 2 local music teachers who have created a comfortable learning environment for students of all levels and ages. Students describe the school as being inviting, warm, supportive, professional and fun. Students get to know each other and teachers through the many events held on-site. BFSM is an active performance school constantly improving facilities and opportunities for students. The team at BFSM aim to have a positive influence in the northern suburbs without the ego that can sometimes be attached to the industry. If you want to learn technique, if you want to make friends, if you want to gain performance experience and conquer your fears- BFSM is the place for you. |
Coronavirus
Here is a copy of our Covid Safe Plan to ensure we can continue to have music lessons onsite.
covidsafe_plan_20201108.pdf
Here is a summary of how we plan to keep safe and open.
1. We aim to run lessons on time to avoid waiting time onsite. We ask you wait in your vehicles until the lesson begins. If for any reason parents/visitors need to come onsite, there is a QR code upon entry you will need to scan with your phone camera and fill out your contact details.
2. No more paper lesson books, any lesson notes will be provided digitally.
3. BYO drum sticks and headphones to reduce shared equipment.
4. Staff will use the kitchen and toilet behind reception. All students to access the toilet and kitchen in the warehouse.
5. Please bring your own water bottles onsite to avoid using BFSM mugs and glasses.
6. If you are showing symptoms of illness, we ask you arrange an online lesson (contact us via text 0403 560 254). If you arrive onsite with symptoms, you will be temperature checked. If your temperature is above 37 degrees, you will be asked to wait offsite for 15min for a re-test. If you have another high reading, you will need to leave BFSM and get Covid tested immediately.
7. Students will be required to use hand sanitiser at the beginning of every lesson.
8. Outside doors need to be kept open to avoid handling the handles and to help provide airflow.
9. If you have any questions or issues, please continue to contact us via phone or email rather than coming into reception.
10. Cash payments are not accepted - please continue to arrange all payments via electronic transfer.
11. Be mindful of social distancing, each space has a sign indicating person limits. Please follow these signs.
12. If you are unsure of which room your lesson will be in, please contact us prior to your class so we can direct you.

The Performer's Mind
Too often, nerves and performance anxiety prevent people from trying out new things! Bianca has written a book with a partner podcast to help people through the fear.
More professional musicians and performers experience performance anxiety than you think. This podcast and book will shed light on the secrets of a performer's mind and start a transparent conversation among the industry. You can find the podcast on iTunes and the book on Amazon. |
