Marcela is a classically trained violinist, born in the Czech Republic where she graduated from the Conservatorium of Music. After her graduation, Marcela taught violin and music for a couple of years before she joined a band called “Country Sisters” as a professional player touring all around Europe and Asia at the biggest music festivals and venues. After a tour in Australia in 1999, Marcela decided to start a new life in Melbourne.
Over the last 20 years Marcela has played with many different bands from Country Rock, Gypsy, Blues, Jazz and original music projects, performing across Australia at festivals as well as private functions and weddings. Presently, Marcela plays with her band around Melbourne and performs solo at private functions and nursing homes.
Her energetic and passionate performance won her the Best Fiddle Soloist in Australia in Tamworth. Marcela is also a composer and released her own instrumental CDs and received many awards such as 1st, 2nd and 3rd places at the Australian Songwriting Contest in Sydney and 2nd place at the International Songwriting Contest in Nashville.
Marcela has been teaching for over 17 years in Australia.
In her lessons, Marcela makes sure the lessons are interesting and enjoyable. She focuses on good technique and posture which is essential. She teaches the Suzuki method, prepares students for AMEB exams with great results, theory, aural, sight reading, improvisation and versatile styles of music. Marcela also plays and teaches other instruments - piano, viola, mandolin and acoustic guitar. Marcela is honoured to pass her knowledge, passion and skills on to others.
